I had the privilege of speaking at The Neuromuscular Centre's Symposium on Wednesday 9th March at Crewe Alex Football Club in Cheshire.
Attended by professionals and families, speakers highlighted how having a disability such as muscular dystrophy need not restrict you whether that be in your leisure time, in education or in employment. Yes, life takes a whole lot more planning but with a positive attitude, the right support and equipment it can be done! A Clinical Specialist talked about positive health and wellbeing and we were given tips on living with muscular dystrophy. The finale, The NMC Production was very moving. Enabling opportunity for all.
A fantastic day. Thank you NMC for inviting me to speak.
Audience Feedback -

Another enjoyable event this week with Cheshire West and Chester Council in Northwich, Cheshire. Privileged to be speaking at the training event and to be sharing the experience of our family with professionals in the fields of education, social care and leisure to improve outcomes for other families.
Wanting to make a difference and ensure that everyone is working in a key working way. Understanding that every family has a unique set of circumstances, listening to and putting the young person with additional needs and their family at the heart of everything and ensuring the right support at the right time.
Great to hear Andrea's talk - real life experiences.
Looking forward to speaking at the final session of this first instalment of training events on Tuesday 15th March 2016 in Chester.

I feel privileged to be speaking at The Neuromuscular Centre's (NMC's) Symposium on Wednesday 9th March 2016 at Crewe Alexandra Stadium, Cheshire.
This nationally acclaimed Cheshire based charity is holding a one day event in collaboration with Cheshire East, for families and professionals in their area. Families will be able to meet with others who are also affected by muscular dystrophy or other neuromuscular conditions, find out how the NMC can help and support them, learn about local services and discover new opportunities for living with muscular dystrophy.
Professionals will be able to learn more about muscular dystrophy and access the latest clinical expert knowledge. They will discover how the NMC resources can support professional practice and equip them to support the lives of their patients / clients and their families.
There will be presentations and workshops throughout the day. Wonderful to be part of this important event.

An enjoyable event this week speaking at a Training Event with Cheshire West and Chester Council in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. Shared our story to staff working in the fields of health, education and social care. A good discussion, helping improve the lives of families from the point of a child's diagnosis. Working together to ensuring the right support at the right time, to achieve the best possible outcomes for the child in all aspects of his / her life and also the immediate and wider family.
Next event with Chester West and Chester Council, Tuesday 8th March in Northwich, Cheshire.
